Beatle artist's updated John Lennon montage to be official backdrop of big Liverpool tribute concert
Beatle artist Shannon, whose work has been exhibited in Liverpool at the Hard Day's Night Hotel and the Cavern Club and who was declared "The World's Greatest Beatles Artist" by the city's Lord Mayor, will be able to chalk up another triumph come this fall.
The John Lennon tribute concert Dec. 9 at Liverpool's Echo Arena to climax the John Lennon tribute season in the city this year will feature an updated version of her montage "The Seven Faces of John Lennon," originally painted in 1997, as its backdrop.

THE SEVEN FACES COLLECTION

The story behind the paintings: In 1997 Shannon had an idea to create a painting depicting the life of John Lennon. From childhood through 1980, the painting would take the viewer through important historical looks of the most famous chameleon rocker to grace the 20th Century. When first unveiled at Beatlefest in New Jersey, The Seven Faces of John was a smash hit! Winning the art contest was a shoe-in and the tribute painting was even made into a jigsaw puzzle later on. The next question Shannon was unexpectedly hit with - "When can we expect the other three Beatles?" The intention was never to create three more paintings but the demand was larger then the intention. So over the next two years three more paintings were created . . . The Seven Faces of Paul, The Seven Faces of George and The Seven Faces of Richie. This is, by far, the most famous of all the Shannon Collections.
